ADI and Wash promote LED for public art

March 13th 2017

Creative collaboration for public art solutions

LED screen specialists ADI have joined forces with one of the North West’s most respected design studios, Wash. The Preston-based companies will work together to promote the application of LED screen technology across public art projects, digital sculpture and brand concepts.

A working relationship between ADI and Wash was established in 2014 during the conception of a high profile project for one of the world’s largest car brands. Wash sought the technical expertise of ADI in the creation of Jaguar Land Rover’s Dynamic Media Wall at their Castle Bromwich manufacturing site.

Wash’s vision was turned into a vast digital installation using ADI’s working knowledge of LED, delivering a striking public art piece on the side of the plant.  ADI integrated a number of elements into the project, including their own Virtuality LED screen product, resulting in a digital artwork that could evolve and change with the seasons.

Drew Burrow, Business Development Manager for ADI commented, “LED is such a creative, transformative technology, the opportunities for application are endless. We’ve been asked to consult on a number of public art installations which leads us to believe there’s a gap in the market. By collaborating with Wash we are in the strongest position to take on these projects and propose innovative, design-led solutions.”

Andy Walmsley, Founder of Wash added, “Through a partnership with ADI we can increase the diversity of our portfolio, while proposing LED for projects where it may not have been previously considered. Like the Jaguar Land Rover project, Wash and ADI can combine their areas of expertise to create some visually stunning concepts.”
