ADI have supplied LED screens and Outside Broadcast facilities for Leeds City Council's annual Opera and Party in the Park weekend in July for a number of years.
The weekend festival – set in the picturesque grounds of Temple Newsham – provides a uniquely dichotomous experience, with an Opera festival on the Saturday evening making way for the latest pop acts on Sunday afternoon. This brings with it completely contrasting crowds, with picnic hampers, champagne suppers and Katherine Jenkins replaced by screaming teeny-boppers and McFly!
ADI provided a full broadcast solution, with two flown LED screens flanking the main stage and a full 4-camera outside broadcast. Throughout the weekend, the LED screens played a mixture of live coverage, video tape, sponsors messages and even live text messages sent in from the crowds, which reach up to 70,000 on the Sunday.
