ADI were contracted by event specialists Bluman Associates to provide our new iCONIC 100+ screen for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 premiere in Trafalgar Square.
The new iCONIC is based around ADI’s class-leading iCONIC 100 screens, but features a brand new screen with a breath-taking 1600x1200 resolution and full HD support. This unique combination of huge high resolution screen and quick setup and derig times makes it ideal for high-end globally televised events with High Definition broadcast requirements such as this.
ADI’s giant screen played a central role in the event, positioned in the centre of Trafalgar Square in front of Nelson’s famous Column and acting as the backdrop to the stage at the end of the red carpet. With the rest of the set to be built around it, ADI had arrived on-site to position the screen early on Wednesday morning, but not before thousands of enthusiastic fans had already packed the Square for premier position for the movie event of the year. Vinyl wrap was applied to the side of the trailer before the screen was framed with trussing and a large stage built in front where the celebrities and stars would be interviewed.
Bluman Associates provided and managed the giant high definition screen, which formed part of the ambitious design that wowed a crowd of thousands in London’s famous Trafalgar Square. The screen was used to showcase a specially cut trailer (created by Edit Poole) along with live camera footage from the event.
Using a mobile screen rather than a modular one allowed Bluman Associates to save both time and money by drastically shortening the time involved to build and dismantle the screen.
