ADI are exclusive LED screen supplier to the world's most famous boat race between the world's two most famous universities. Oxford and Cambridge do battle on the Thames in a Race whose history stretches back nearly 200 years.
ADI provided three LED screens for the Xchanging Boat Race, which takes place in West London between Putney and Mortlake. With over a quarter of a million people lining the Thames for the race, the screens play an important part in entertaining and informing the crowds.
ADI's three screens included two iCONIC 15s – which were located in Bishop's Park and Furnival Gardens – and a further ground supported screen. This was located alongside the Thames, facing across the river to the Boat Houses and ADI supplied a self-contained solution, including generator, fencing and security.
The two iCONIC 15s were located a little further back from the riverside, in two of the most popular viewing areas (coincidentally, very close to pubs!). With their unique double-sided LED screen design, they were ideal as they could be seen from nearly 360º enabling them to put right in the middle of the park. On-board PA and generators made them a completely self-contained outdoor screen solution that could be driven into place on the morning of the race and removed from the area shortly after the event had finished.
Customer Comment
"This was the first year in a five year agreement with ADI as exclusive LED screen supplier to The Xchanging Boat Race, and we are very happy with how the contract has started.
As well as an excellent on-the-day service, ADI also providing great service in the build-up, offering valuable advice and managing production of on-screen content. I look forward to working with them again on the 2011 Race."
