ADI have completed an LED screen installation for The Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Afrcia – one of the country’s largest venues and one of the ten official FIFA World Cup 2010 stadia. The installation includes a 60m² Virtuality LED screen as well as a full control room and supporting hardware.

The contracts mark the first installations for ADI’s newly formed South African offices, ADI SA, which operate from Cape Town. Loftus Versfeld Stadium is one of South Africa’s most famous stadia and home to The Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club and The Vodacom Blue Bulls, one of the country’s leading rugby clubs. This summer, the stadium has also played host the Second Test of the British & Irish Lions rugby union tour, as well as matches from the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Global Expansion

The contract marks a further stage in ADI’s international expansion. ADI have for the past 15 years been recognised as the leading UK LED provider to major sports arenas and events – their client list includes major Premier League Clubs such as Manchester United, Everton and Aston Villa, and they provide screens for many of the world’s leading sporting occasions, such as Royal Ascot, Lords MCC and The London Marathon. The last few years has seen ADI expand this model to the global market and their recent South African success demonstrates ADI’s ability to operate at the pinnacle of sporting events.

ADI’s new South African office have managed the contract tender and installation and will also service the screens throughout their lifetime. The new ADI SA office will replicate the success of ADI’s UK business in both the installation and rental markets, servicing a fast growing industry set for dramatic expansion in the lead up to next year’s FIFA World Cup, an event that will put South Africa on the map for global sporting occasions.
