The British GP certainly bucked the recent trend for falling attendance at Formula 1 Grand Prix’s, welcoming 140,000 ticket-holders for race day alone. Those also in attendance during practice and qualifying were able to enjoy live footage on large viewing screens strategically located across Silverstone circuit.
Working with Creative Technology, ADI delivered 28 LED displays which varied in size from 12m² to a colossal 100m² . The sheer range of screens in the iCONIC fleet ensured we could provide an ideal solution for each area of the venue, with many of the largest displays facing onto the grandstands and smaller screens within hospitality zones and outdoor spectators hubs.
On Sunday there was plenty of drama on the track, and every second was broadcast live on all 28 mobile and modular screens. Additionally, the majority of screens were fed HD quality feeds for the first time resulting in greater clarity and richer colour.
No doubt bolstered by the home crowds Lewis Hamilton took the race, signalling the perfect end of UK motorsport’s most iconic and popular event, and a successful weekend for the ADI team.
