Virtual Hybrid LED Named Sports Tech of the Year!

We’re delighted to share the news that ADI, together with Supponor, have been been awarded gold at the 2017 Sports Business Awards.

ADI’s innovative Virtual Hybrid digiBOARD, which integrates Supponor’s virtual replacement technology, picked up the honour for Sports Tech of the Year at the ceremony.

Virtual Hybrid digiBOARD combines traditional LED, visible to fans in the stadium, with virtual replacement technology, which makes it possible to change the perimeter content seen by different international audiences watching the same match. Judges praised the innovation, which has the potential to transform club revenues by providing a partnership platform that allows brands to tailor their message for individual territories. Essentially, Virtual Hybrid digiBOARD enables clubs to commercialise in game media inventory multiple times over.

Judges Comment, Sports Business Awards:

“The technological breakthrough by and Supponor was a mere dream not that long ago. This advancement creates a massive opportunity for clubs & sporting bodies. The ability to create multiple branded broadcast feeds has huge opportunities in terms of revenue for clubs moving forward.”

The first system of its kind was installed in the Premier League at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Stadium in 2016 and the award comes shortly after ADI and Supponor completed the first leg of a European tour, touring Virtual Hybrid technology throughout Germany to showcase the platform for Bundesliga clubs.

ADI were also awarded bronze in the Best Large Business Serving Sport category in recognition of the multi-layered services delivered to multiple sports from football and rugby to horse racing, motorsport, athletics and cricket.
