2022 has been a year to remember – not just for us as a company but also for the industries we work with.
As you will know, 2021 presented many challenges, but this year our customers have bounced back in emphatic style, delivering bigger and more exciting events, matchdays and shopping experiences than ever before.
This year we’ve deployed a range of solutions within the Events, Sport, and Retail & Leisure sectors – all of which have recognised the importance of delivering experiences that suit the modern-day fan or consumer.
We are noticing that more and more of our customers are trying new things and stepping out of their comfort zone, and as a forward-thinking company, we’re there to support those ambitions and push the boundaries with our wide-ranging digital solutions.
We’ve already got some big projects lined up for 2023, but for now, let’s look back at some of the many great events and installations we are proud to have been a part of in 2022.
We entered 2022 with a bang, announcing multiple contract wins with some major sports brands and events. Installing a new digiBOARD perimeter system into Bayern Munich’s iconic Allianz Arena Stadium was the perfect way to start the year. We were chosen to deliver the official Festival Sites for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and we moved to the outside of Turf Moor Stadium to complete the digital transformation of Burnley FC’s home.

February saw us launch our new LED glass product – G-SMATT. Meanwhile, a team of 31 headed to the Saudi Arabian desert for the season opener with Extreme E, where we supplied 19 screens and flew 60 tons of equipment over from the UK. And with the massive project now finished at Burnley FC, we were able to tell Mondo all about it, who kindly stuck it on the front cover!

Accessibility of our stadium technology is important to us and this month we explained how we were creating bespoke packages for clubs of all shapes and sizes to FC Business. Meanwhile, the Live team were busy deploying our iCONIC 40C and Signature Podium screens at the historic Paris – Nice cycling race, as well as managing LED at Cheltenham Races and Silverstone F1. It was the Ukrainian Peace March in Trafalgar Square that was a key highlight, though.

April began with a double-header of Marathons in Paris and Manchester, where our big screens gave spectators the perfect view of the action. The Rome Formula E was next, where we supplied iCONIC screens, creative modular LED and content solutions to the event. This month we were busy supporting our football club’s with their final games of the 2021/22 season and we took some time to look back at the variety of content we produced for our customers. Worcester Warriors used our sustainable LED solutions to host the club’s first ever #ConvertToZero match against Saracens, while our sports presentation team were delivering an exciting live event experience at the UCI BMX Racing World Cup in Glasgow.

As always, June was an action-packed month. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations marked a fantastic weekend for the whole Events industry and we were delighted to deploy so many of our glorious LED screens for official celebratory events in Central London. We announced that we had won the contract to deliver a digital transformation project at the iconic Printworks Manchester, which includes Europe’s largest digital ceiling. More records were broken over at Royal Ascot, as we deployed the most screens ever at any UK racecourse for the Gold Cup weekend.
