2024 Netball Super League Season Launches With Enhanced Sports Presentation

Following a successful International Test Series and Vitality Nations Cup, ADI have now brought up-lifting sports presentation and live entertainment to the Netball Super League. The 2024 Season Opener took place at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena (17th February), with five thrilling matches played in a single day, enhanced by ADI’s innovative activations and creative programming.

Fans got a chance to see their favourite teams – with brand new squads and kits – battle it out during an epic Season Opener, all broadcast live on Sky Sports and BBC Sport thanks to a recent landmark deal. ADI worked with the client to deliver a fresh and unique mix of event presentation for this special occasion, including new live entertainment and interactive elements such as a mass audience mobile quiz and on-court ceremony. 

Outside the Motorpoint Arena, one of our giant iCONIC screens delivered a live stream of every match throughout the day, engaging spectators arriving at the venue and the public passing-by, while also promoting England Netball campaigns and the NSL Grand Final at the end of June.

Interactive Elements

The digital photo wall experience we developed for England Netball has been a huge success, and it proved a firm favourite once again located on the arena concourse. Fans were eager to take photos posing with their favourite NSL stars behind them, able to pick the sporting heroes from their club to pose and celebrate with, creating fun videos and selfies to take home at the end of the day. Post-match these screens became the backdrop to some exciting player meet-and-greets, where hundreds of fans gathered to take selfies and collect autographs from their favourite NSL stars.

Alongside interactive apps for light shows, fan cam and social media inside the arena, ADI introduced a bespoke mobile quiz game. With the integration of pre-recorded clips of players asking the questions, the audience played along on their phones, with the activation and live leaderboard also shown on the arena LED screens. NSL Grand Final tickets were up for grabs, but there were opportunities to win a range of branded prizes and merchandise throughout the day via ADI’s engaging host team. 

NSL Ceremony

ADI helped develop a new pre-match ceremony specifically for the league, with the creation of a bespoke NSL anthem and banner reveal on the court. This serves to enhance the prestige and protocol of the NSL as it hopes to go professional in 2025, and capitalise on the sport’s fast growing popularity.  Alongside the ceremony a range of live performance, dance and music kept audiences entertained throughout the day.

Unique Content

As befitting the UK’s top level, elite netball competition, our team produced a wide range of vibrant video content and digital assets for broadcast on the arena screens and LED signage. This included a new Hype video edit (below), which was played pre-match to build atmosphere and get the audience excited for the action ahead.
