SPFL club Aberdeen have chosen venue transformation specialists ADI for multiple digital installations ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The off-season provides football clubs with a valuable window to evaluate fan engagement levels and commercial portfolios, free from the demands of the relentless matchday schedule.
Acknowledging the significance of the in-bowl digital displays as a pivotal part of the matchday experience, Aberdeen have chosen ADI to install a new state-of-the-art digital perimeter system and two LED ribbon scoreboards.
By leveraging ADI’s cutting-edge LED technology and content platform, the Dons are taking a proactive approach to elevate fan engagement and increase revenue generation for the 2023/24 season.
Enhanced In-Bowl Platform
Following an extensive consultation process, Aberdeen’s 120-year-old Pittodrie Stadium will undergo a digital makeover in the coming months thanks to the integration of a 10mm LED ribbon and digiBOARD perimeter product.
The new state-of-the-art digiBOARD system will provide an upgrade on the existing platform, thanks to ADI’s proprietary MTX product that guarantees exceptional image quality. With a length of 245 linear metres, the system will be installed around the three-camera facing sides of the stadium and will work in harmony with the new ribbons either side of the South Stand gantry, which will display a clock and scoreboard.
Delivering Content Remotely
In addition to the hardware upgrade, the Dons have opted for Live Venue fibre connectivity, which allows ADI’s experienced Studios team to deliver content to the screens from their state-of-the-art galleries in Preston. The remote management of content will provide the off-site production team the ability to monitor the quality of output and ensure a high standard for Aberdeen’s brand partners and matchday audience.
In addition, an in-house CMS will be used to offer the flexibility to distribute separate content across each display, or synchronise the output in order for a sponsor or club message to appear across the entire platform, known as Total Stadium Takeover (TST).
