Extreme E returned to the UK last month to race on the former Glenmuckloch opencast coal mine site in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, and ADI introduced some new, innovative solutions to elevate the race day experience.
Broadcast to more than 180 countries globally, the restored former coal mine provided a poignant backdrop for two days of electric off-road rallying, which saw us deploy a new LED platform around the driver command centre, featuring 40 metres of digiBOARD.
The digital displays were used to deliver race updates to on-site spectators and remote audiences, and also offered an improved canvas for race sponsor Vodafone and other partners to activate their brand.
Another new addition was an extended hospitality area which saw a premium VIP space made available for sponsors and guests. Family and friends were also given access to a brand-new technical zone, where our mobile screens were positioned to provide a perfect view of the race action.
The command centre – which is a completely bespoke pop-up concept built for the inaugural season three years ago – was once again in full flow. ADI’s on-site production crew managed the content to all of the LED displays in real time, generating a unique live event experience for drivers, team principals, engineers and spectators alike.
