ADI deliver party atmosphere for the 2024 NSL Grand Final

The 2024 Netball Super League season drew to a close in spectacular fashion at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham this past weekend (29th June). Loughborough Lightning beat Manchester Thunder to keep their hands on the prestigious trophy, and netball fans were out in force for the occasion.

With the highest-ever ticket sales for a Grand Final, over 8,700 spectators cheered, chanted, danced and sang as they enjoyed the dazzling sports presentation and entertainment programme delivered by ADI. A dedicated sports pres, ceremonies and technical services team managed the full production during Third Place play-offs and the Grand Final itself, with a seamless, action-packed schedule.

It was clear that the players on court got energy and good vibes from the crowd, the lights and the live music; and what an incredible party atmosphere we helped create throughout the day!

The event journey for spectators started well before the fixtures began, with live music and roaming entertainment right across the concourse of the Resorts World Arena, where fans also enjoyed photos opportunities at the NSL digital selfie wall. Up in the hospitality suites ADI helped host player Q&A’s and DJ sets pre-match.

Diverse Entertainment & Local Talent

ADI delivered an engaging mix of live music, dancers and performances who featured on the concourse, at the event opener, and also during half time shows. Local talent from the Birmingham and Midlands region was showcased in abundance, with acts including the Dhol Crew Drummers, Voice of the Town Choir and Marshon Dance Company.

Spectators were encouraged to lift the energy and get involved, with live DJ’s, Dance Cam’s and Singalongs compered by our engaging host team, Lucy Mills and Jodie Gibson.

Additional interactivity and audience participation came in the form of ADI’s custom mobile apps, including QPix and QVue for fan livestreams, selfies and user-generated content and a bespoke interactive netball themed Quiz for mobile.

To drive inclusivity and enjoyment for the whole audience, ADI also worked with a British Sign Language interpreter to integrate a live feed into the big screen programming.

Ceremonies and Presentations

ADI have brought a new level of ceremonial prestige to the NSL in their first season as a supplier, and the custom-commissioned NSL anthem and banner reveal on court helped add to the Grand Final’s sense of occasion.

ADI’s team were also in charge of the Winner’s Celebration; when Loughborough Lightning made the trophy lift a stunning SFX display included flames and rainbow coloured streamer explosions, complimented by the dynamic LED backdrop and vibrant creative content.

Innovative Event Staging

Alongside the more traditional elements of LED cube screen and digital perimeter system, ADI conceptualised a bespoke modular LED showpiece encompassing centralised arch way, with screens left, right and set back. This helped transform the venue for the Grand Final and created a dramatic stage for the players and officials to enter the court, brought to life with colourful branded content from our Editors.

ADI were commissioned to produce the in-venue creative and hype content displayed across all the digital assets and LED screens, with fully synchronised and branded content running across the entire arena platform to deliver a visually spectacular experience for the broadcast audience and those courtside.

Achieving record-breaking ticket sales for the Grand Final on Saturday was a great way to finish an exceptional NSL season."

We celebrate a successful first season supporting the Netball Super League, where we've brough huge enhancements and innovations to the sports presentation, entertainment and digital event infrastructure. We very much look forward to the developments and evolution of the NSL into 2025, with a new era and Netball Super League 2.0. "
