How ADI's team of specialists transformed the acc liverpool complex into a world-class sports venue in just five days
When our specialist team arrived at the ACC Liverpool Complex a week before the 2022 World Gymnastics Championships, the M&S Bank Arena was a blank canvas.
Our job, as the official Event Presentation Provider, was to digitally transform the space into a world-class competition arena where the sporting action was just a part of the overall event experience. It had to be an immersive environment that would keep spectator engagement high throughout nine days of competition.
We achieved this by installing thousands of metres of digital displays across three separate locations. Once installed, the screens displayed atmosphere-building content that was crafted in-house by ADI’s Studios team. 15 km of fibre was laid to enable the content to be delivered to the displays in real-time.
The canvasses, content and fibre connectivity solutions combined with spectacular event presentation to create an unparalleled in-bowl experience for both spectators and gymnasts.
The success of the event is testament to the 70 ADI team members who were on-site for the build and during the event. Engineers, technicians, producers, editors, camera operators and floor managers worked tirelessly in the shadows and were pivotal to the delivery of a sport-changing event.
