For the past few years, ADI has proudly supported the Longridge Soap Box Derby, a community-driven event that raises money for charity. In 2024, ADI took its involvement to the next level by being invited to take park in the event and enter a soap box in the race for the first time, alongside the delivery of live event services.
Led by Team Captain Craig Robinson (Client Service Manager at ADI), ADI’s soap box team performed strongly on their debut performance, securing a top 10 finish with an impressive final run of 46.249 seconds, completed by Niall Sullivan (Lead Project Engineer at ADI). After 35 hours of hard work building the soap box and recruiting a team, the soap box survived the day without any issues, marking a successful debut competition for the team.
In addition to racing, ADI provided two iCONIC mobile LED screens to enhance the spectator experience and deliver expanded coverage with a two-camera team. ADI’s technical expertise helped deliver live footage of all the action to the screens, bringing the excitement of the race to everyone watching around the town centre. We also helped promote local businesses and sponsors through the on-screen programming.
As both participants and technical suppliers, ADI was proud to contribute to the success of the charity event where funds were raised for St. Catherine’s Hospice, and they look forward to future involvement, both on and off the track.
