ADI gear up for Extreme E’s highly-anticipated UK return with exciting Hydro X Prix delivery on 13 – 14th May 2023
Extreme E will be back on home soil next month to race on the former Glenmuckloch opencast coal mine site in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
The Hydro X Prix will mark an exciting return home for the sport as it delivers its third season, presenting the opportunity to highlight climate issues and solutions that are not just global, but also on our doorstep.
The restored former coal mine, which is about to undergo the next phase of its major transformation into a Pumped Storage Hydropower plant and wind farm, will provide a poignant backdrop for two days of electric off-road rallying.
Since the inaugural season, ADI’s highly skilled team have been supplying a fully managed solution to bring The Electric Odyssey to its global audience, which is split across a phenomenal 180 countries, and they are set to introduce new, innovative solutions to the Hydro X Prix.
A key upgrade is a brand-new external activation platform around the driver command centre, which will feature 40 metres of digiBOARD. The platforms will be used to deliver in-race communication to on-site spectators and remote audiences, while also offering an improved canvas for sponsor brand activation and key messaging.
Inside the command centre, ADI’s team of producers will again be managing the LED technology and content in real-time. An extended hospitality area will be introduced for the event, with a premium VIP space available for sponsors and guests, which will include bespoke AV infrastructure. Family and friends will also have the perfect view of the action from a brand-new technical zone.

Looking ahead to the race weekend, ADI’s Global Head of Sales Thomas Taylor commented: “We have been on a global journey with Extreme E since 2021 and our solutions have evolved along the way, culminating in the Hydro X Prix delivery being bigger and better than ever. Extreme E are a pleasure to work with, as they look to innovate and push the boundaries for each event, with this one being no different. The combination of AV, LED, technical infrastructure and sports presentation will boost the on-site race experience for sponsors and guests in Scotland, but also the huge audience that will be tuning in around the world.”
Three more races remain in the 2023 race calendar, with ADI travelling to Italy, Chile and one more unconfirmed location to close the chapter on another exhilarating campaign.
