iCONIC 100 at Muirfield
The oldest and most prestigious prize in golf – The Open has a history stretching back over 150 years. Whilst the event takes place at a different course each year, ADI’s screens have become a constant over the past six events, helping to entertain spectators and drive concessions sales at The Open for over seven years.
A multi-screen solution is required for the event which sees over 230,000 people attend across the week each year. ADI solutions have included screens from our mobile rental fleet, including an iCONIC 100, iCONIC 60, iCONIC 40, iCONIC 25 and iCONIC 15s as well as modular solutions.
Screens are used across the course, both as a direct display of a broadcast feed but also showing graphic feeds. We have provided modular solutions including 2.4mm indoor for the
Chairman’s Suite. Smaller screens are positioned at areas on the course with high footfall and allow spectators to view the live coverage as they made their way around. Our compact, mobile units can also be moved to different areas including the main car park at busy times during the event.
ADI’s outdoor LED product has repeatedly proved its worth throughout the event, particularly in 2016 where the screens were unaffected by the heavy rain and high winds which caused play to be suspended twice and causing the event to finish on a Monday for the first time in The Open’s 144 year history.
