Support at every stage.

As you’d expect, the logistical planning required for Le Tour is second to none, with a dedicated team, multiple screens and ancillary equipment navigating towns, mountainous regions and the French capital.

Our staff merge with other delivery partners and the organising team to form a cohesive unit that build the event, go live and de-rig, then replicate 21 times!

Unique LED Screen Solutions

Le Tour utilises some of ADI’s most unique mobile LED screens, including the dual-sided iCONIC 15 in the fan village, the iCONIC 40C which delivers excellent live coverage for big crowds, and the compact but effective iCONIC 12 for wayfinding.

The mobile solutions are complimented by a wide variety of modular elements that are part of ADI’s growing remit, including high resolution LED for the iconic Protocole and Chronopole gantries, in addition to the podium, staging and recently the Départ Ramp.

As part of our service, the ADI team also assist the organiser with content, video distribution and fibre networks across the screen on-site.

From Concept to Reality

For the 2022 Tour, ASO tasked ADI with conceptualising two innovative solutions and bringing them to life. From initial ideas and discussions with the client, detailed briefs and requirements were defined for a new Départ Ramp and mobile Stage Screen unit.

A key part of the process – and of huge value to our clients – is ADI’s ability to design engineer and visualise bespoke solutions. Our technical, commercial, and creative teams collaborated in the projects, producing 3D video renders that helped to shape and evolve the concepts, before manufacture and production processes could begin.

The Départ Ramp: Enhanced Sports Presentation and Brand activation

With a long-list of 176 riders starting the Tour in central Copenhagen with a 13km individual time trial, the Départ Ramp was a crucial element of the event and broadcast production, creating a visual spectacle for every entrance.

ASO worked with ADI to design a ramp solution that was larger and more impactful than previous iterations, offering ample digital signage space for digital branding and infotainment, with 3mm modular LED covering the front camera-facing side. The rider’s name and headshot were broadcast on the LED displays during countdown, enhancing the atmosphere and building up anticipation of the crowds.

Stage Screen Container: Entertaining Fans Across the Tour

At each stage and location stop, the Tour brings its fully featured Fan Village, with live music and performance, sponsor activations and interactive experiences. Key requirements for this live event zone are large-format LED screens and staging solutions, but these need to be quick and easy to deploy, and able to travel across all 21 Stages around Europe.

ADI’s in-house technical teams designed a mobile screen featuring a 20sqm LED display and 29sqm stage. Both are integrated within a secure container-style unit, bringing enhanced simplicity to their touring production. The build and de-rig of the stage screen is also quick, which was hugely beneficial on a busy event site that travels across so many locations.

Enhanced solution for the Grand Finale.

The eyes of the world are on Paris as the peloton makes its way past some of the capital’s most famous landmarks, and with huge crowds descending on the Champs Elysees, ADI deliver the world’s biggest mobile LED screens. These include the super-wide iCONIC 120 and iCONIC 100’s, with up to ten large mobile LED displays from our own market-exclusive fleet.

Event Relaunch: Tour de France Femmes

While the Tour de France came to a close, the TDF Femmes was just getting started. Relaunched for 2022 after a 33-year absence, this 8-stage race began at the iconic Eiffel Tower.

ADI supplied a number of solutions for the TDF Femmes, including the unique iCONIC 60 Stage, iCONIC 40C and a host of modular LED signage and displays.

ADI’s involvement in the Tour de France has evolved significantly over several years, not only due to the delivery of an increasing number of screens, connectivity, and staff. ADI’s ability to design engineer, visualise and manufacture bespoke solutions have led to the introduction of unique, cutting-edge LED products that serve to enhance the live experience and activations at this world-famous event.
