STADIUM-WIDE DIGITAL MAKEOVER FOR THE COVENTRY BUILDING SOCIETY ARENA

Aim:

Premiership Rugby team Wasps were compelled to transform the live matchday experience and develop new activation channels for their commercial partners. ADI were unique in being able to offer cutting-edge LED stadia technology and remote production services to achieve their vision, utilising in-house teams and expertise to create compelling matchdays at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Flexible Fan Engagement Platform

Within the stadium bowl ADI installed the largest LED screen in Rugby Union. The 188sqm LED screen was designed in a super-wide 32:9 format to bring Wasps Rugby more flexibility over use and allow both the club and it’s sponsors greater creativity in engaging and interacting with fans.

A bespoke CMS means the screen is capable of displaying multiple content zones, meaning the live video feed, clock and score can be broadcast simultaneously with sponsor branding, social media content and trivia. Wasps also have the option to take-over the entire screen, delivering super-wide content. The full display is used to deliver team line up videos on an imposing scale, as well as pitch-side interviews with pundits and club legends pre-game.

Matchday Production Services

ADI provide Wasps with a dedicated production team who deliver fresh, unique matchday programming and digital content for broadcast on the stadium screen and LED ribbon.

The team curate a wealth of digital assets including bespoke Hype VT’s to compliment Wasps’ pre-match light shows, commercial elements for partners, and produce green screen shoots with players for Teams News and other branded stings.

Enhanced Venue Experience

ADI also helped the Coventry Building Society Arena implement a solution for digital wayfinding, shaping a positive experience for Wasps fans and visitors, while also offering enhanced communication and promotional opportunities. This network of screens includes a digital LED banner above the main entrance,  feature video wall in the foyer and multiple LCD displays in the main concourse.

Outcome:

Wasps Rugby have been able to utilise ADI’s sports production and venue solutions to deliver an unprecedented digital fan experience at the Coventry Building Society Arena that’s inspiring and interactive, alongside multiple platforms for partners to engage the stadium audience. Through this the club have been able to enhance their commercial strategies and develop long-term value for partner brands.
